Beta 3 Now Available
November 10, 2004 (Filed under: Herecast, Releases, LBS)Beta 3 is now available. You can download it from the Software page. The previous version is still available at SourceForge.
This version fixes a few bugs, most notably the duplicate items that appear in the dropdown lists. (To clear any old problems, it would be a good idea to clear the cache, using the button in the Options/Advanced dialog.) Also, you can now delete subscriptions from the Options/Advanced dialog. For service developers, messages from subscriptions work a bit better now as well. If the message begins with a URL, a link will be provided, as shown in the screenshot below.

I'm working a bit on the back end, and will hopefully have a few more things up soon...

Does the Herecast icon next to the Connection Icon up top come on all the time? Mine's not showing right now

this update fixes the auto reboot issue with the 1.10 ROM for HP IPAQs?

That icon only shows up when a service you're subscribed to sends you a message. None of the main demo services actually send messages like that yet (at least under normal circumstances), but I plan to add more features like that soon. :)
This update probably won't do anything for the iPAQ 4150 with ROM 1.10. (I'm using ROM 1.10.10 on the iPAQ 5550, so it's a more specific issue.) However, I have a plan that will hopefully give some insight into what could be causing that.

apparently, the kind folks at wififofum and kasuei have mentioned that its cause would be HP not so great implementation of its wifi driver...

I could believe that -- I've experienced a couple of bugs in the Wi-Fi driver of my device. (I tried to report them, but they wanted me to sign up for the "premium" developer program first, at something like $800.) Fortunately, those bugs were fixed a few revisions later.

Good stuff! You already have "Expert" status, which gives you access to things like the new "Merge" button (which I never did officially announce.) Actually, I see you've already found it. :) It seemed to have a bug at first, but I've fixed it and restored the data.
